G.E.A. Company Profile

G.E.A. has become a leading company in its core business activity of Toll Collection Systems design and manufacture and maintenance since its creation in 1971.

Today, all French motorway companies use our equipment, ranking G.E.A. as their No.1 supplier. More than 85% of the French toll lanes on the motorways operate G.E.A. manufactured electronic toll systems and more than 12,000 G.E.A. lanes are in operation worldwide.

G.E.A. designs, develops, manufactures, integrates, installs and maintains a full range of equipment: central computer systems, plaza computer systems, manual or automatic entry and exit lanes which accept all forms of payment (cash, currency, magnetic cards, bank cards, smart cards, subscriptions and ETC).

G.E.A.'s expertise in Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) covers the full range of systems encountered across the world, thus enabling G.E.A. to undertake with confidence and serenity any sort of innovative project in electronic toll collection.  G.E.A. is a CEN TC278 ETC systems manufacturer since 2001 and a major player in the French-wide T.I.S. (Télépéage Inter-Sociétés) interoperable tolling scheme. G.E.A.’s range of ETC equipment includes CEN TC 278 compliant Road Side Beacons (for mono or multilane applications), On-Board Units and Desktop Reader Encoders.

Furthermore, GEA possesses cutting edge technology and know-how in information processing. GEA central computer systems and plaza computer systems have been running for over fifteen years under Windows with Oracle databases on many sites. These plazas are designed with local and remote data networks.

The numerous contracts won by G.E.A. overseas show its ability to adapt to operating conditions that are sometimes radically different from those of the French market. GEA has now installations in more than 34 countries:

  • In Europe (Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and United Kingdom)
  • In Asia (China, India, Kazakhstan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand)
  • In Middle East (Bahrain, Egypt and Saudi Arabia)
  • North Africa (Ivory Coast, Morocco and Tunisia)
  • Central America (Guatemala, Mexico)
  • South America (Brazil)
  • The Caribbean Islands (Jamaica)

G.E.A. is also a renowned provider of turnkey parking revenue collection systems with solid references acquired from the major car park operators such as Vinci Park, Saemes, Lyon Airport, Omniparc, Sepadef and a significant number of local authorities across France.

Customer satisfaction is our top priority: G.E.A. staff constantly endeavours to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of both our existing and potential clients. Whether or not a formal request for analysis has been received from a client, any new industry need is thoroughly investigated by our teams in order to find innovative solutions.  The work is carried out in the pursuit of excellence and using total quality management processes.

G.E.A. was awarded its ISO 9001: 2000 certification on 26 March 1999.
